DFW Holiday Charities/ Donations

November and December are the two biggest months for charities. More donations are made during the holidays than any other time of the year. With new disasters happening each year, different areas of the world are in need. These disasters cause new “organizations??? to pop up, and you don’t always know if they are legit or just fly by night scams out to get your money. Charity watchdog organizations are there to help you know that your money is going to a legit organization. One website www.charitywatch.org is a great place to look up to see if the organization is legitimate. You can research which charities make better use of your money; some organizations use more money for overhead, salaries and such. It’s nice to know that your money is going to the right places.

    We have 180 children enrolled at our center. Some of these families will not be able to enjoy the Christmas holiday because they do not have a Christmas tree or decorations for their children. We are asking for donations for families enrolled at our center. This would be a great way to give back to your community and make the holiday a little brighter for a deserving family that cannot afford these things at this current time. Any donations given would be greatly appreciated and we can also provide a document for your tax records if necessary. If you have any questions, please contact a Family Advocate Monday-Friday at 214-372-3051 or 214-372-4031. Someone is available to answer your questions between 7:00 am – 5:30 pm.     Holidays are a time to enjoy and it is a time to think of those less fortunate than ourselves too!! You do your best to do your “little bit” to help but while doing so, it is very important that we ensure that our contributions are utilized for the purpose for which we have given it for!! There are Organizations “mushrooming” everywhere to help the needy but it is always advisable to check for genuine organizations like the DFW, Red Cross and other agencies where we can trust that our hard earned money reaches the deserving!!
