Mini Cooper Billboards Know Your Name
Starting today, Mini USA will begin delivering custom messages to Cooper owners on digital billboards in four cities. The billboards can identify the owners based on a RFID chip embedded in their key fob.

The messages are based on the personal questionnaires owners filled out. So, for drivers like Jim, a chef in San Francisco, he might receive the following note: “Jim, the special of the day is speed.” The signs, posted in San Francisco, New York, Miami, and Chicago, will encourage drivers to upgrade to a feature on their wish list, so boards read, “You’ve earned your GPS system.” Mini owners will even be wished a happy birthday on their special day. More than 1,000 Mini owners who signed up to receive “an ever-changing array of unique, personal, playful and unexpected messages” are the guinea pigs for the experiment.

November and December are the two biggest months for charities. More donations are made during the holidays than any other time of the year. With new disasters happening each year, different areas of the world are in need. These disasters cause new “organizations??? to pop up, and you don’t always know if they are legit or just fly by night scams out to get your money. Charity watchdog organizations are there to help you know that your money is going to a legit organization. One website www.charitywatch.org is a great place to look up to see if the organization is legitimate. You can research which charities make better use of your money; some organizations use more money for overhead, salaries and such. It’s nice to know that your money is going to the right places.

I saw this posted on inhabitat (an excellent site). This particular article is about an architectural project designed by UCX Architects. The project in Rotterdam dubbed the Urban Cactus will accommodate 98 residential units within 19 floors. Situated on the end of harbor, the architects chose to conceptualize the project as belonging to the “green nerve” rather than the surrounding urban structure. The “green” is revealed in a stacked set of alternated planes. The stacked alternated living planes reveal the encompassing “green” of the project. The pattern conceived by the living planes creates more space and allows for each unit to receive more sunlight than a typical stacked composition.
