Friday Dec. 8, 2006 Ladytron will perform at Hailey’s in Denton, Texas. Also performing are Dreamtiger and The Burning Hotels. It would be safe to say that this is going to be a massive party, so you will want to arrive early!! Hailey’s says no cover for the night which is hard to believe and I found the flyer (above) which states tickets are available through camelsmokes.com—-and you have to sign up first…and have a login ID and password and all that jazz. The site is not working properly at this time but when I find out about tickets, I will pass the info along. You can also get help finding tickets by calling 1-866-988-8800—which sends you to your local camel rep. So basically this place is going to be smokin!!

This is the new video from Norwegian new-gazers, Serena-Maneesh. The song is called ‘Saphirre Eyes’. Norwegian Serena Maneesh present their self-titled, full-length debut Serena Maneesh with eleven songs that slide down a razor’s edge of distortion and pop whimsy, raucous guitar work and underwater static, angelic voices and primal screams. The strange melodies are strikingly original, yet they strike to the heart of something familiar: a classic rock guitar lick, a wound, a kiss.
See them in action this Thursday 09/28/06 @ Rubber Gloves in Denton,TX…if you can’t make it to Denton, you will get a chance to see them in Austin and in Houston over the weekend.

“M. Ward” is the stage name of Portland, Oregon based singer-songwriter”—Matt Ward”. Ward’s solo career began in 2000 when Giant Sand’s Howe Gelb took a shine to his music and released Ward’s debut disc, Duet For Guitars #2, on Gelb’s Ow Om label. End Of Amnesia, Ward’s introspective 2001 sophomore effort, sounds like it was recorded in a dusty attic between ancient steamer trunks and long-forgotten dress dummies. Ward is at a loss to explain the origin of his singing voice, a three-pack-a-day rasp that sounds like it should come from a 75-year-old Mississippi Delta bluesman.
Enon interested in exploring that wide territory between pop-rock songs and noise, employing a wealth of samples, industrial sound processing, and percussion. They take elements of Tom Tom Club, Love, and early Cure, and combining them with a flash of the Japanese pop and punk esthetic.
The Octopus Project, an instrumental space-dance quartet from Ausin,TX, is a performance not to miss. Every song is built on a beat that would do DJ Shadow proud, providing the waves of keyboard melodies with enough room to crash into each other between bouts of controlled guitar noise and funky bass lines.
